Description

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Fire Department is bringing back a coloring contest to promote Fire Prevention Week this year. The contest will run through Oct. 6, and winners will be announced the following day. This year, Fire Prevention Week is held from Oct. 3 through Oct. 9. Children who participate in the contest — which is being held in lieu of a poster contest — can choose between four different pictures to color. Once it's complete, they can post it to BFD's Facebook page or email it to the department at [email protected]. Each submission should include the child's name, age and grade in school. Submitted photos will be published on the fire department's website and will be available for downloading. Winners, one per grade, will receive a basket of fire department goodies, according to a Facebook post about the contest. Children who win can pick up their prizes at the department's open house, which is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 9. at Fire Station 4, 1111 Boughton Road. Someone from the fire department will deliver the baskets to kids' homes if they're unable to pick up their prizes at the open house. The coloring templates can be found on the fire department's Facebook page. Anyone with questions can contact the fire department's administrative office at 630-226-8540.
