Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock today announced the recipients of the 2021 TangerKIDS Grants as Jenny Phillips with Parkway School, Suzanne Livesay with Bethel Elementary School and Amber Dollyhigh and Laurie Gill with Blowing Rock School. Awarded funds will be utilized for requests such as engaging music students with an interactive classroom rug, sensory gadgets to enhance gross and fine motor skills with special needs children to enrich their speech and language skills. It will also be used to assemble a rich and diverse teacher-shared library, from which teachers can pull leveled sets of the same title for a small group they’re working with – ensuring that children at every level in their class, from high to low, can read the day’s material successfully! The 2021 TangerKIDS grant funds will also be promoting the foundation of great journalism by offering quality equipment, producing a top-notch newscast that students, staff and families can view and gain valuable information from. The grant program provides funding for schools in the community to further support the education and future of the local youth. Since 1996, Tanger Outlets through the TangerKIDS Grants have funded notable projects, programs and equipment for schools nationwide. This year’s winners were chosen from numerous applicants within the Watauga County area. Applications for the grant were open from March 1-June 30 at grants.tangeroutlets.com.
