Columbia Daily Spectator BY KATHY FANG, CAITLIN BUCKLEY, AND BERNARD WANG SEPTEMBER 21, 2021 After 22 months, Columbia football finally returned to its home in northern Manhattan in its season opener on Saturday. The Lions soundly beat Marist College 37-14 by dominating both sides of the ground game. After falling behind 14-0 in the first four minutes, Columbia scored 37 unanswered points en route to topping 300 rushing yards in a game for the first time since 1988. It is an optimistic sign for an offense that ranked last in the Ivy League in 2019. See more photos here. Founded in 1877, the Columbia Daily Spectator is the independent undergraduate newspaper of Columbia University, serving thousands of readers in Morningside Heights, West Harlem, and beyond.
