The Old Globe is seeking to hire a full-time temporary General Maintenance Technician with a strong background in building maintenance, HVAC systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance. This assignment is expected to last 6 months. Job duties include: monitoring and troubleshooting boiler and HVAC units; appliance maintenance and repair; plumbing repair; preventive maintenance/repair on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment; and electrical work including replacing and installing electrical components and equipment. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and access and anti-racism work in the theatre. As of October 1, 2021, employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption would apply. Must be able to complete and clear background screening. 3-5 years building maintenance experience preferred. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends. Must have valid California Driver’s License and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
