Raised in New York City, Josh started his career in high school playing in youth symphonies and jazz clubs. He's studied with many of today's greatest jazz musicians including Paul Bley, Joe Morris, Bob Moses, Drew Gress, Dan Weiss, Bob Bowen, Jacob Sacks, Jerry Bergonzi, and Dominique Eade. Josh has also performed in masterclasses with Kenny Wheeler and Dave Holland. 22+ years teaching experience Bachelors degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston Masters of Fine Arts from Goddard College Fulbright scholar to India Lessons topics include: -Basslines -Technique (Left hand, right hand, bow, etc) -Soloing -Harmony (theory and playing over chord changes) -Rhythm -Improvisation -Composition -Jazz, classical, bluegrass, swing, world music, and more!
