Description
Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP) in Marin County is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for our Pre and Post Doc Program beginning September 2021.
The primary goal of CIP’s Pre and Post Doc Program is to train interns who will become licensed psychologists, prepared to practice independently in clinical and in community-based human service programs. CIP’s Program allows for accumulating supervised hours while providing clinical services and receiving supervision and training from some of the Bay Area’s top clinicians. Pre and Post Docs receive two hours of individual supervision and two hours of group supervision weekly (Wednesdays 8:45 – 10:45 am) and participate in a didactic curriculum (Wednesdays 2 - 4 pm and Fridays 9 – 11 am) designed to support their work within our community clinic.
This program is focused on continuing the training of pre and postdocs in clinical assessment and providing long and short-term psychotherapy with a wide variety of clients. We promote service as a means to reinforce positive values and to help build strong, resilient families, schools, and communities. We offer a supportive work environment that honors cultural differences and promotes an atmosphere of continuous learning.
NEW Optional Specialty Areas: Couples Therapy, Eating Disorders and Working with Dreams.
Minimum requirements: Good writing and verbal skills, assessment, treatment planning, and experience in outpatient setting managing a caseload of 12 – 18 clients.
Applicants should have an understanding of our program's philosophy and model of training. These are two-year commitments (possibility of moving from pre to postdoc).
Post docs are paid.
