My moms dog needs to be rehomed ASAP. He was once my dog but when he was around 4-5 months old, he became my moms dog because he was attached to her hip. Now almost 3 years later she has been diagnosed with cancer and just can’t handle him or give him the attention she once could (believe me she fought hard but in the end it was the best decision to have him removed due to no fault of his own.) I was going to take him back in however because he didn’t technically grow up with my other dog he now does not like him and is very dominant.
I don’t know if it is because he is a male and he is smaller (or both) but he has no issues with our female dog who is closer to his size. He is BIG, mom is a white husky and his dad is a mastiff. He is slender but tall. His name is Ruger, he knows sit, lay, paw, roll over, speak and is house/crate trained. He is a good dog. He reminds me of the ol yeller movie because he is that kind of dog. Loves to play fetch if you give him a tennis ball he will play with himself for hours lol he is shy at first with people he doesn’t know but once he knows you are a good person he is instantly loving on you. He behaves very well inside and knows not to jump on the furniture unless you let him. He also likes being outside.
I have tried to take him to several shelters but they all rejected my surrender form because of full capacity and/or because of his dog aggression and shyness he has a high chance of being euthanized. If I let that happen My mom would never forgive me. Please help me. Other than the dog aggression he is a wonderful dog and deserves another chance. Thank you.
Yes there is a Rehoming fee and a vet reference required before I let you take him anywhere. You also must have a backyard for him to play.
