Our Heavy Housekeeper/Custodial Worker is responsible for the hands-on general cleaning of assisted living apartments and common areas of the community, including, but not limited to: washing walls, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning toilets, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, and dusting. The staff must have the ability to understand assigned tasks and work independently. Responsibilities include apartment turnovers including painting, patching walls, shampooing carpets and replacing wearable parts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • General housekeeping tasks including washing walls, mirrors, and toilets, mopping floors, vacuuming rugs and other cleaning duties. • Ability to take instructions and work independently. • Assist in meeting the community’s standards of presentation and appearance by moving and adjusting furnishings. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight. • Assist in meeting the community’s standards of presentation and appearance by moving and adjusting furnishings. • Perform various floor care tasks such as carpet and spot cleaning, shampooing, extracting and bonnet buffing along with application to vinyl flooring including striping, finishing, waxing and high speed buffing. • Knowledge of high speed and low speed buffers, and correct application of pads and products associated with such machines. • Shoveling and snow removal from sidewalks, etc. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: All Christopher Height's housekeeping staff are required to adhere to all company policies. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs of weight. Housekeeping staff cannot have allergies to commercial or household cleaners. Housekeeping staff require the ability to speak, write, read, and understand the English language fluently. Housekeeping staff is required to work weekends and cover shifts as needed for vacation or sick time needs within the department. Housekeepers must display good customer service skills. All housekeeping staff is required to have a background check (CORI).
