Looking for an Auto Mechanic for a 1982 Toyota 4x4 Truck

Description

Hi: I am looking for a mechanic to work on the truck in the photo. Here is the story... six years ago I bought this truck in Northern Minnesota, and drove it home to the Southwest Minneapolis metro. It ran great. I had a 1979 version of this truck in the early 1990s, and have been looking for one for years. As soon as I got it home, I took it into a shop and got headers and new exhaust, since it was basically straight-piped when I bought it. A few months later a neighbor of mine (former mechanic) offered to work on the truck for me, to turn it into a driver and get it all sealed up. So we parked it in his garage and he started tinkering around on it. He took out the interior and the driveshaft, removed some electrical and a few things off the motor, then completely ignored it for three years. So I finally took it back from him, and found a shop in a small town southwest of Minneapolis that said they would work on it. I paid a bunch of money to haul it to their shop, and they parked it in their lot and haven't touched it. And that's been about three years as well. Bottom line, I've owned this truck for six years and absolutely nothing has been done. When I bought it the engine had just been completely rebuilt, and now it doesn't even run. I'm looking for a mechanic, either retired or unemployed, who has the shop and the tools to work on this truck and make some progress. Basically take it this Fall, and give it back to me in the Spring humming and sealed up so there are no leaks. In terms of money, I pay cash for hours worked and I will order all of the parts. I don't expect anyone to put a dime of their own money into this truck. And I have a ton of new parts... taillight assemblies, grills, headlight bezels, unified ignition, street distributor, intake manifold, gaskets, carb conversion kit, front and rear seals, a new radiator, wheel seals and cylinders, fuel pump gasket, brake shoes, wheel bearings, wheel cylinder, brake lines, heater hoses, clamps, thermostat, housing gasket, a brand new 3" lift kit (still in the box), shocks, springs, boots and a brand new leather-covered bench seat. I have no idea how much of this stuff my neighbor was able to get on, so most of it is probably still in the boxes. I also have a new painless wiring harness, which I believe he was able to get installed to some degree. If you're interested in this job, reply to this ad with your phone number and we can talk. I just need someone to turn this into a solid driver--I'm not looking for a resto-mod, unless that's your thing then we can talk. Basically take the truck to your shop now, and give it back to me running and solid in April. Thanks for looking.
