Division – Residential Department Job Title – Field Measurer Compensation – $15.00/hour, plus mileage reimbursement at the federal rate Hours – Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options available between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday – Friday Location – Plainfield Township Responsibilities: Field Measurers are responsible for creating and maintaining documents to describe properties throughout the township for real estate tax purposes. • Working outdoors to externally measure new construction houses, existing residential buildings, and home improvements • Identifying residential home amenities and completing field data forms • Drawing buildings and structures on graph paper • Taking pictures of properties • Communicating with property owners and builders to ensure accurate records • Providing customer service to homeowners • Maintaining safety standards and following field procedures • Coordinating with office staff to complete site visits and drawings in a timely and organized manner • Performing general clerical work and related tasks as required Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Ability to draw and measure structures • Basic math skills and knowledge of basic geometry • Niche entry level position. Training will be provided. Experience with measuring, blueprints, builder plans, home improvement, or construction would be helpful Other Requirements: • Must be at least 18 years old • Must hold a valid driver’s license • Must have access to a vehicle for field use • Must be able to work outdoors in all temperatures • Appropriate safety clothing/equipment required
