Description

We are sad at the passing of our friend Wallace Kelly but happy to get old fiends together to celebrate his life! Please join us. Wallace Kelley (71) passed away Thursday, August 19th at hospice in Memphis, peacefully with his family by his side. Wallace was born in Memphis Tennessee. He received a BFA from Memphis State University and went on to push the boundaries of entertainment and entrepreneurship with the development and design of some of the countries most creative venues spanning a four-plus decade career. Working with McFadden/Kendrick and McFadden Ventures Wallace designed and operated: Elan's in Memphis and Denver; Cowboy in Memphis, Rodeo in Denver; Confetti Memphis and Denver and; Baja Beach Clubs around the country. He was the mastermind behind Denver nightclubs The Piranha Room, Thrills and NEO. He created and operated Fish Dance in Denver and Dallas and is fondly remembered by his staff for his gift to them of an "epic" trip to Cabo! He also owned the upscale vintage shop Pop-A-Rama. Wallace designed and opened Industry in Denver before moving to Miami. In Miami Wallace met his true mentor and best friend Callin Fortis of Big Time Design and working with the Big Time Design Studio developed many award-winning hospitality projects including: Crowbar Worldwide; The Mondrian Hotel; B-Bar; Exit 66, America's Backyard and Lola. Wallace made an indelible imprint on so many of us during his time here in Denver. Please join us to remember and celebrate him at where else but a nightclub! Share this invitation with as many people as possible so we can have one more truly remarkable experience with Wallace. We look forward to seeing you. We ask that you RSVP by registering so we can have a head count.
