SOulFULLY Textured™, A Natural Hair Experience is an experience in and celebration of naturally textured hair, specifically designed to educate, eradicate and inspire! Get ready for hair care tips, beauty, amazing vendors, and everything we love and embrace about our naturally textured hair and lifestyle. This one day event features:1. 30+ Vendors to Shop 2. Natural Hair Talk by Beauessence Salon 3. A Paint Party. Youveline Joseph will lead attendees in painting their own natural hair diva to take home (See photo below). Youveline's work "focuses on representation and her goal is to showcase and praise the beauty... and diversity in the African diaspora."(ticketed separately but INCLUDES admission to the event) 4. Screenings of the film "Back To Natural" (see link to trailer below) 5. A film discussion and Healing Workshop led by the film's director. Gillian Scott-Ward, PhD is a Mind-Body-Soul-focused Clinical Psychologist and award-winning filmmaker living in Harlem, New York. She decided to create Back to Natural when she started her own natural hair journey. Back to Natural Healing Workshop will allow participants to explore personal reflections and reactions to the film, early life hair-related memories, and intentions for personal and community healing. We will discuss the mind-body connection, learn techniques for stress-management, reflect on our own "hair-related self-talk," and have an opportunity to explore what a liberated relationship with our hair looks like. Each participant will leave with their own personalized "Healing in Action" plan!6.
