One of the newest offshoots of Bay Area music collective Jazz Mafia, the project is made some of the finest musicians on the West Coast, who’ve long collaborated with artists in the Dead community – from Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Joe Russo’s Ain’t Dead Yet, to Peter Rowan, Jackie Greene and Cold Blood. Performances dig deep into the Grateful Dead discography, with imaginative covers that will make you fall in love with the Dead’s music all over again, that are also fused with the ebullient spirit of New Orleans second line, as well as Balkan, Afrobeat, and Afro-Cuban traditions.
