come help pick up litter with we.grow.eco at Westgate Community Park in Albuquerque, while supporting Chauncey as he walks across the U.S. a human named chauncey has decided to walk from Virginia Beach, Virginia to San Francisco, California. his friend noah is driving the support vehicle and helping to coordinate & document the adventures. along the way, they're meeting up with folks in local communities to pick up trash & talk about civic engagement & grassroots organizing. learn more about the project at www.wegroweco.org. COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP: 9:30 a.m. on Saturday 10/2 we.grow.eco, in collaboration with Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, are inviting folks in the Albuquerque, New Mexico community to join us on Saturday, October 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at Westgate Community Park to pick up some litter together. We will gather in the big parking lot in the southeastern corner of the park — the address is "Valley View Drive SW," and the entrance to the lot is at the end of "Atrisco Ranch Road SW" (see map below). upon arrival: we will have a brief orientation about how the morning will go, then split into smaller groups"collector" groups will be a given gloves & bags/buckets, & will then spread out in the parkone group will hang back as the "sorters," and as collectors come back with buckets of trash, they will sort by type & brand, then use the One Piece A Day smartphone app to document the litterafter collecting & documenting our litter haul, we will gather together to take a group photo & debrief about single-use plastic pollution & possible grassroots power-driven solutionsplease bring: a full (reusable) water bottle, and any snacks you may want (we will also have snacks & a water jug)a hat & sunscreen for sun protectionshoes and clothes for outdoor activities (we may play some frisbee when we're done if there's interest!)a mask, if you are not vaccinated (we have extras)there are bathrooms at the park. we look forward to seeing you out there! in solidarity, chauncey & noah
