“Empty Bowls” is a collaborative fundraiser between Alvin Meals On Wheels, ACC’s Art Department, along with local restaurants. “Empty Bowls” is a collaborative fundraiser between Alvin Meals On Wheels, Alvin Community College’s Art Department, along with local restaurants. Together, we host an opportunity to help feed low income and homebound senior citizens in our community, while buying handcrafted pottery. Alvin Meals on Wheels is selling tickets to their Empty Bowls event where anyone can buy a hand-crafted bowl and soup dinner for $25. Hundreds of decorative bowls have been handmade by local artists and students for this event. Volunteers will serve you 2 specially-made soups in to-go bowls with a bottled water and bread item with your ticket. You get to take home a hand-made bowl with each ticket you purchase. $25 from each ticket purchase goes directly into feeding our clients. Our mission is to deliver free, balanced meals to the homebound, who otherwise have no way to receive a nourishing meal each weekday.
