Richard Alpert received his JD from the University of Texas School of Law in 1986. For 30 years he was an Assistant Criminal District Attorney with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth Texas where he specialized in the Prosecution of DWI and Intoxication Manslaughter cases. He is the author of three publications: Texas DWI Investigation & Prosecution (6th Edition), Intoxication Manslaughter Investigation & Prosecution (3rd Edition), and The DWI Case Law Update which he has published since 1992. He is the recipient of many State and National Awards including: 2007 MADD National Presidents Award for Outstanding Prosecutor, 2008 National Traffic Safety Prosecutor of the Year, 2009 State Bar of Texas Prosecutor of the Year, the 2000 & 2010 Texas District & County Associations Distinguished Faculty Award. He is currently working as a law enforcement lecturer speaking on a variety of topics relevant to law enforcement and prosecutors both in Texas and throughout the United States and is an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School. www.richardalpertlaw.com
