Connect with your local Masonic Lodge! Aurora Lodge, A.F. & A.M. Fitchburg, MA. NOT JUST A MAN. A MASON. Joining with over 200 Masonic lodges across the Commonwealth, the Freemasons from Aurora Lodge located at 16 Thorndike St. in Fitchburg, MA. will open our doors to the public on Saturday, October 16th, from 9 AM until 3 PM. If you’ve ever wondered who the Freemasons are, whether they are the descendants of the Knights Templars, or what the inside of our buildings look like, here’s your chance to find out! More than 200 lodges will be hosting Open Houses to help the public gain a better understanding of Freemasonry and to demonstrate the positive impact it has on its members, their families, and their communities. Members will provide tours of their building, talk about Freemasonry’s history, discuss its ceremonies, and what value members derive from their participation in the fraternity. Aurora Lodge was chartered in 1801 in Leominster, MA. On March 14, 1845, Aurora Lodge moved to Fitchburg. Aurora Lodge members have been meeting continuously for 220 years.
