House tours focusing on the travels of Schweikher & Martyl and how their voyages influenced their work as architect & artist respectively. The Schweikher House Preservation Trust, in collaboration with Docomomo US, will offer a selection of in-depth specialty Schweikher House tours that will focus on the travels of Paul Schweikher and Martyl Langsdorf and how their experiences influenced their work as architect and artist respectively. Please note the theme for each tour time when selecting a tour time. Tour Schedule: 10am - 11:30am | Japanese influence on the Schweikher House 11:30am - 1pm | Martyl (Langsdorf) travel influences on her art 1pm - 2:30pm | Japanese influence on the Schweikher House The 10am and 1pm tours will include a discussion of the Japanese influence on Schweikher’s own home through a thoughtful, deliberate and masterful integration of wood, brick and glass, while incorporating a harmonious relationship with the outdoors. The 11:30am tour offers special attention to the stewardship of Martyl Langsdorf, her worldwide travels and its influence on her prolific art career. The Trust was incorporated in 2009 to help oversee Modernist architect Paul Schweikher’s 1938 home & studio. Supporting events hosted by the Trust will help to further develop programs, tours, and outreach opportunities that promote and educate the public about the House and Studio and its former residents.  Tax Identification Number 27-1367307
