ASIS Chapters 82, 65 and 42 Hybrid Event - The Why of Smart with Jon Polly ,PSP, IC3PM Networking and community learning event, get "Smart" about Smart Tech . Delving into partnerships, connectedness, business intelligence and integrations with success. Our speaker Jon Polly will discuss "The Why of Smart" at this ASIS hybrid event for chapters Piedmont 82, Charlotte 65 and SC Central 42! Attend either in-person at our host Brady Services or virtually (link to be provided before the event). Lunch will be provided by our host Brady Services in Greensboro for those who attend in person and RSVP via Eventbrite. Jon Polly is a former police officer, a security technology consultant for smart city applications and writes for several security publications - including Security Info Watch and ASIS International . Mr. Polly is the Chief Solutions Officer for ProTecht Solutions Partners, a security technology consulting firm that works with Smart Cities and Corporations to bring business intelligence and public safety through security IoT applications. Mr. Polly has over 7 years of City-Wide Surveillance deployments and over 20 years of Physical and Electronic Security experience. He has worked as a Project Manager and System Designer for City-Wide surveillance and Transportation camera projects in Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; and Washington, DC. As a former Police Officer (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department) and Security Administrator for a Global Non-Profit (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), Mr. Polly brings unique out-of-the-box thinking to secure cities and properties, but also first responder tactics to address threats. Prior to becoming a security consultant, he managed a growing security integration company and was tasked with bringing it to the next level, expanding its implementations to include wireless infrastructure, automated license plate implementations, and surveillance on demand applications. Mr. Polly sees the future of security as an IoT/OT and cybersecurity convergence that is only growing. Physical and Electronic Security now must have a radical shift in design and implementation to meet the growing needs of the customer. IoT/OT and cybersecurity solutions will be the key to creating Smart Cities that work. Mr. Polly is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Anthropology. He holds a North Carolina Low Voltage Electrical License (NC SP/LV) as well as active North Carolina and South Carolina Alarm Board Licenses. Mr. Polly is certified as a Physical Security Professional (PSP) through ASIS International. He is certified in Critical Chain Project Management (IC3PM) by the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA). He is also certified as a Milestone VMS certified design engineer (MCDE), Ubiquiti and Siklu wireless engineer, and holds OSHA 30 Safety Certification. Mr. Polly is a regular contributor to JADE Learning, a continuing education company; and Security Business Magazine.
