Description

14th Annual Cookin' To Build: All you can eat chili, soup and gumbo, plus deserts and entertainment, AND a hand-painted bowl to keep! This event raises money to build affordable houses in Rutherford County and offer Financial Literacy and Homeowner Education for Future Homeowners. The event features over 30 food vendors from groups, churches, companies and restaurants, and hand-painted bowls that attendees can take home. The $20 fee covers all-you-can-eat, entertainment and prizes. A $10 child's ticket for a Styrofoam cup is available. Pre-purchased ticket holders can get in at 10:30 am (half hour earlier than general public - yay! eat more!) This event will follow Covid-19 Guidelines as they are in place at that time, including food safety. Masks will be available and encouraged while not eating, and safe distancing guides will be established. This event is perfect for all ages and includes family entertainment. The historic Murfreesboro Square is a beautiful location that includes many local shops. Sponsorships are available from $250 - $5000: [email protected] Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing ministry, seeks to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. This is done through building quality, affordable, sustainable houses while partnering alongside low-income, qualified applicants. Homes are built by RCHFH construction staff, future homeowners, and community volunteers. After a home is completed, it is sold to the future homeowner at no profit with a low interest loan. We build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter.
