After a hiatus in 2020, the 2021 Annual Fall Update will address a multi-pronged approach to Perioperative Clinical Excellence.
PAA’s annual Fall Update has returned! This will be an information packed day focusing on improving Perioperative Clinical Care. This year’s topics include preoperative optimization, COVID’s impacts on the surgical patient, transfusion medicine, and ERAS updates. Once again, we have speakers coming to us from all over the world and we are excited to announce our key speaker, Dr. Daniel Martin!
Dr. Martin is the Critical Care lead for the High Level Isolation unit at Royal Free Hospital in London. He is a senior lecturer in the UCL division of surgery and interventional science and director of the UCL Centre for Altitude, Space and Extreme Environment Medicine at the Institute of Sports Exercise and Health. His research interests include hypoxic adaptation, exercise physiology and perioperative medicine. And he's in the record books from his Everest climb, recording the lowest blood oxygen level ever recorded in a human, on a tiny ledge 400m beneath the summit in a 20-knot wind at -25C. We are excited to hear Dr. Martin share this experience and much more. And we hope you join us!
