Description
Cross Cultural Family Center is seeking a handy-person and driver to help maintain the grounds and equipment for its child development centers located in various neighborhoods in San Francisco. The Handy-Person/Driver will also deliver daily meals to our child care centers.
The role of the Handy-Person/Driver includes: upkeep of grounds in and around the centers, minor repairs such as fixing hinges on doors and cabinets, making sure that furniture and equipment are safe for use by children and staff, and other general upkeep and maintenance such as replace light bulbs, helping to keep the central kitchen clean and in order. The driving role includes delivering food from the central kitchen to five child care centers within a four mile radius, maintaining the safety and upkeep of the agency’s food program vehicle, helping to pack delivery containers with meals for each center, and returning delivery containers to the central kitchen.
Qualifications:
• A valid California driver’s license and a clear driving record.
• Experience with repair and maintenance tools and their use
• Knowledge of safety practices when using repair and maintenance tools
• Yard work experience (preferred)
• Experience with driving in San Francisco and knowledge of driving safety regulations.
• Awareness of safety practices and food handling safety practices.
• Able to lift and carry at least 40lbs.
• Good communication skills and personal hygiene.
Starting salary: $20.00 - $24 per hour
