'Brooktoberfest' Will Bring Beer & Lederhosen To Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, WI — Prost! On Oct. 9, the Town of Brookfield will host its first annual "Brooktoberfest" festival that will bring the fun of Oktoberfest to Brookfield. The celebration will feature beer from Wisconsin's world-renowned local craft breweries, including the Gathering Place Brewing Company, Lakefront Brewery, and Raised Grain Brewery, served by members of the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. If you're not too tipsy, try your hand at a beer stein holding contest to see if you're the strongest person in Brookfield. The winner will receive a gift card to Stefans Soccer and a custom Discover Brookfield beer stein. If that's not your thing, there will be three other contests: a Dachshund race, a bags tournament, and, naturally, a best dressed competition to see who sports the best lederhosen. These races will be done to the backdrop of local bands: the Tom Brusky Polka Variety Band, the Jeffery Winard Polka Parties, and Mixtape. Visitors will also be able to hang out with the famous Milwaukee Brewers Famous Racing Sausages, and take pictures with the Hot Dog and Brat. Food will be provided by Clean Cuisine, Bocadillos, Meat on the Street, the Milwaukee Pretzel Company, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Pig Tailz. "We created this event to help spread awareness for the Town of Brookfield," Brookfield Tourism Director Anna Antoine said in a statement. "This event is meant to bring the community together to celebrate the start of autumn. Join us for a traditional Oktoberfest, with a Brookfield twist!"
