Violist for a multi genre performance group that will involve recording, and musical, theatrical performances. Pay will be come from performances and sales of recordings. I am interested in performers who are collaborators, though I can score parts, I am more interested in collaboration, creation, and development of a group dynamic. There will be opportunities for the violist to perform established classical pieces via solo, or duet with flute and vocalists. The instrumentation I am seeking is: Amplified Acoustic Bass Guitar - myself, as the continuo, Flute, Viola, Hand Percussion and several Vocalists. The genres will range from folk, to progressive rock, and classical. Amplified as little as possible, with the goal of performances really being non-amplified. Once the group is established I am also looking to incorporate dancers and actors. I operate Alva Sound Art Studios and am currently looking to promote a musical audio book, 8 hours in length, that I created called "MorningStar - A Play as Musical Audio Book" available on bandcamp.com. You can hear some demos on youtube at Alva Sound Art Studio. Certainly a lot of variety and options. So it is very important that the violist be interested in working in a variety of contexts. I am based in Rohnert Park, Sonoma County.
