High: 76 Low: 53. Here are the top stories today in Roanoke: Roanoke College will reduce published tuition prices to better reflect student costs. That published price is $46,510. Beginning in the fall of 2022, the school will reduce its published price by 28 percent. The published tuition price will be reduced to $33,510. School officials say this price better reflects the price that students attending Roanoke College actually pay with the help of financial aid and scholarships. (WDBJ7) New River Health District director Dr. Noelle Bissell said young children are at low risk from COVID-19 but not "no risk." In Monday's weekly COVID update, Dr. Bissell said COVID-19 may have long-term effects in children that could come up months or years after infection. She said vaccines for children could be critical in fighting the pandemic. (WDBJ7) Andrea Garland has been selected as the next director of RIDE Solutions. (The Roanoke Star) Home prices in the Roanoke area have skyrocketed over the last year, with a 15.4 percent year-over-year increase since June 2020 and a 2.3 percent increase from May to June of this year.
