NEW HAVEN, CT — Trapped on the second floor of a Shelton Avenue house on fire, a woman escaped by shoving an air conditioner out of a window, and jumped to safety, the New Haven Fire Department tweeted early this morning. Just after 5:30 a.m., a fire that began in a 2 and 1/2 story wood-frame house at 350 Shelton Ave., was reported.
