NEW HAVEN, CT — In three days, three shootings. A 34-year-old, 43-year-old and a 27-year-old were gunned down in three separate incidents over the weekend, police said. One man is listed in critical condition.
According to New Haven police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway, just after 10:30 p.m. Friday, 911 calls came in about gunfire on Sherman Avenue, between Whalley Avenue and Percival Street. Responding officers found a New Haven man, 43, suffering from gunshot wounds. American Medical Response transported the victim to Yale New Haven Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
On Saturday, at around 3 a.m., police got calls about a person shot on Hazel Street, between Winchester Avenue and Newhall Street. Police found a 43-year-old New Haven man suffering from gunshot wounds. He's listed in stable condition. On Sunday at around 9 p.m., police got both 911 calls and a Shotspotter alert about gunfire and a person shot on Davenport Avenue, between Baldwin and Elliot streets. Police found the 27-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical but stable condition.
