WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Recreation Commission will hold its third public meeting Monday about the proposed Edison School Multipurpose Fields Project, which will place a series of recreational fields behind Edison Intermediate School.
The project, which has drawn numerous comments and questions from residents, will create multi-use fields for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, field hockey, football, the band, and other uses.
Town officials and the Board of Education signed a Letter of Intent on June 15 to pursue a shared service agreement. READ MORE: Westfield To Hold 3 Meetings On Edison School Multipurpose Fields
The proposed fields were originally to span approximately 400,000 square feet.
After residents expressed some concerns over the summer — ranging from traffic issues to the use of turf — officials said they would scale down the project, according to an August story in TAPinto Westfield.
The Monday meeting will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at Edison Intermediate School, 800 Rahway Ave.
