About Us- Sound Roof Services is a commercial roofing company servicing the Puget Sound area since 2007 and we are looking to add a Project Estimator to our team. We are a family owned, small business, where you will work right alongside the owner of the company. We work primarily on commercial flat roofs, with work ranging from annual cleaning and maintenance, small and large repairs, and complete re-roofs. We offer full benefits after a 60-day waiting period and have opportunities for growth and advancement. The perfect person would ideally have previous roofing and/or construction and/or sales experience, however, we are open to training the right person who is willing to learn. Our office is located in Lynnwood, WA. Position Summary- The Project Estimator prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements. They serve as a vital function of the company. They are responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with a roofing project. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities- • Build and maintain strong relationships and rapport with customers. • Accurately measure roofs and advise owners of other issues with the building other than just roof or sheet metal. • Schedule and set up jobs via phone or email. • Order materials, fill out and supply purchase orders. • Create job orders. • Generate responsible estimates and literate bid letters. • Perform job walks. • Perform safety and quality assurance checks. • Obtain all information for job start ups. • Forward contracts to insurance broker for COI or insurance requirements. • Obtain correct permits. • Meet with dispatcher to provide information if needed. • Contact manufacturers for inspections or for specific information on jobs. • Act as back up for phones in the office and dispatch calls. • Other duties may be assigned at any time. Education/Experience, and Skills Required- • High School Diploma or GED preferred. • Must have valid driver’s license. • Flat/commercial roofing experience preferred, but not required. • Previous experience in the construction field and/or sales preferred. • Experience with Microsoft Office products. • Strong time management skills. • Analytical and extremely detail oriented. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Comfortable ascending and descending ladders. • Comfortable working in all weather conditions Sound Roof Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
