BRIDGEPORT, CT — An 18-year-old Stratford resident has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Bridgeport last month, according to multiple reports. The Connecticut Post reports Edwin Abrams turned himself in to Bridgeport police on Tuesday morning on a warrant in connection with the Aug. 28 homicide of Jamel Hayden. Abrams was charged with felony murder and criminal attempt at first-degree robbery, and was being held in lieu of a $3 million bond. Investigators said Hayden was killed after he was shot in the back over what appeared to be a robbery over about $250 worth of marijuana, according to the Post. Abrams is the second person to be arrested in connection with the killing. Abrams' attorney told News 12 Connecticut that Abrams comes from a law enforcement family and didn't pull the trigger in the shooting, but is remorseful for what happened.
