POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – A discussion on making the intersection of Route 35 and Arnold Avenue safer has been added to the agenda for Tuesday night's Point Pleasant Beach council meeting. This discussion comes after an incident on Sunday afternoon where a 16-year-old-girl was struck by a car at the intersection of Route 35 and Arnold Avenue. Later that night, Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra posted on his Facebook page his intent to ramp up efforts to improve cyclist and pedestrian safety, including meeting with county and state leaders. Tuesday's council meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall on 416 New Jersey Avenue and can be watched live on the borough's YouTube page.
