The EVSC Board passed next year's budget by a unanimous vote Monday evening.
The total EVSC budget for next year is just over $281 million, which is a seven percent increase over this year's budget.
The budget is split into two main funds- Education, which pays for teacher salaries and things like classroom supplies. The Operations Fund pays for most other day to day expenses. There is a capital projects area and a Transportation Fund that is used for operating and replacing school buses.
For 2022, the Education Fund is $148 million, the Operations Fund is $33 million, the Capital Projects Fund is just under $30 million and the Transportation Fund, split between transportation operations and bus replacement, is $32 million for next year.
The remaining big chunks of the budget are just over $29 million for servicing the school corporation's debt and $8 million for the Rainy Day Fund.
