EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A 16-year-old boy was charged Tuesday after police said he struck a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month. Police did not release the teen's name, since he's a minor. He was charged with failing to stop for an accident involving bodily injury and driving without a license. The crash happened just after 1 p.m., Sept. 11 on Warren Avenue at the on-ramp to Route 195 eastbound. The motorcyclist suffered injuries, but survived. Video of the crash showed a Toyota Prius crashing into the motorcycle. Instead of stopping, the teen continued onto I-195, according to police. "We would like to thank many of you for sharing our posts which contributed to solving this case," East Providence police said in a statement on Facebook.
