Description
ANZA, CA — A magnitude 3.4 earthquake was recorded west of Palm Desert Tuesday afternoon, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or serious damage.
The temblor was centered approximately 6 miles northwest of Anza at 3:41 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Society.
The earthquake was initially reported by the USGS as a magnitude 3.7.
Another temblor hit moments later at 3:57 p.m. in the same area that measured a magnitude 3.3.
The quakes follow one earlier in the day near Joshua Tree.
That magnitude 3.2 temblor was centered approximately 17 miles northeast of Indio at 4:15 a.m., according to the USGS. The quake was felt across the Coachella Valley, according to the USGS reporting map. There were no injuries or damage reported.
