Description
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Some intersections are without their usual school crossing guards in parts of Marin right now due to a labor shortage, according to a report.
For the first time in history, the Transportation Authority of Marin has begun advertising in newspapers for part-time school crossing guards, a report from the Marin Independent Journal says.
There are fewer than five crossing guards working in Novato, the Marin Independent Journal reports. Tiburon and Mill Valley are also short-staffed.
Crossing guards in Marin County make $61.60 for two hours of work a day, not including travel time, according to the Independent Journal.
