Manager of Academic Affairs Office Penn State Great Valley, located in Malvern, PA, is seeking a full-time Manager for its Academic Affairs Office. This position reports to the Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer, serves as the office manager for the Academic Affairs Department, and assists with planning of academic unit budgets. The Manager of the Academic Affairs Office is responsible for evaluating, supervising, and training all Academic Support Coordinators and Administrative Support Assistants within the Academic Affairs and Academic Divisions office and provides support to the Chancellor and Associate Chief Academic Officer, faculty, and students. While this position has the potential to work remotely on a partial basis, an on-campus presence at Penn State Great Valley will be necessary in order to provide support to Great Valley faculty, to oversee the Academic Affairs office, and to participate in campus meetings and committees. Penn State Great Valley's Academic Affairs Office Manager will: • Manage the Academic Affairs Office and Academic Division staff including recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management • Oversee daily office activities and ensure that schedules are maintained and deadlines are met • Serve as academic liaison with other Penn State campuses, Administrators, and Directors • Partner with the Enrollment Management and Student Services office to coordinate New Student Orientation and facilitate the recruiting, hiring, and management of student employees • Identify and solve complex student issues including problems with registration, technology access accounts, grades, retention, billing, and advising • Partner and collaborate with Marketing & Recruitment, Enrollment Management & Student Services, and the campus leadership team on a variety of strategic and operational initiatives • Attend leadership team meetings and represent academic staff in campus and committee meetings • Monitor budgetary matters and facilitate website reviews, updates, and meetings. • Assist with the onboarding of new faculty and staff and the coordination of paperwork and payments • Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Chancellor and appointments, events, and travel for the Associate Chief Academic Officer • Facilitate communications with internal and external clients to exchange information, resolve issues, and coordinate activities This position typically requires 5 years of related experience and an Associate's Degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex and challenging projects and programs. Preference will be given to candidates who have over ten years of directly related professional work experience in higher education, five of which should be at the supervisory level.
