JOLIET, IL — A 34-year-old Joliet woman who lives in the 3700 block of Harms Road is now in the Will County Jail after police said she attacked three of the officers who responded to a domestic disturbance inside her garage early Monday morning. Karisa Zielinski was booked into the Will County Jail shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, charged with three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one count of obstructing justice. Joliet police were called to Zielinski's property on Harms Road near Gaylord Road around 5:10 a.m. "Officers located Zielinski involved in an argument with a male in the garage. Zielinski appeared to be under the influence of alcohol," Joliet police reports show. While in her garage, Zielinski slugged an officer in the chest with a closed fist, and then she kicked the officer in the leg, police said. As other officers tried to put Zielinski into the back seat of their squad car, "she kicked two more officers in the leg," police said. After being delivered to the Joliet police station, the 34-year-old woman refused to cooperate with the booking process, police reports stated. Zielinski indicated she was injured from a domestic battery incident earlier in the evening, according to police. She was taken to the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center for treatment and then brought to the county jail, authorities said.
