"Anybody you know in need of tutoring in the City of Northport, of Tuscaloosa County, anybody that walks through the door will have the opportunity to be tutored," Washington said on Monday.
Students are asked to bring their homework, textbooks and practice work. They will then be tutored by University of Alabama students in an "interactive and friendly environment"
To reserve a spot in either or both sessions, click here. Parents and guardians can also text the student's name, grade and desired tutoring session to (205) 928-8258.
The Culverhouse Learning Initiative and Financial Training (LIFT) Program was first started in 2014 and is designed to reach out across Tuscaloosa and west Alabama to improve the job skills in surrounding communities that are viewed as underserved.
