This is a great opportunity to get into an entry level construction / non-profit position. Our crew has lots of fun while working hard to protect children from lead poisoning in Hennepin County! • NO Tools or vehicles are necessary. We provide everything you need, including PPE, tools, training and licensing. • NO Nights or Weekends • Great Benefit package including PTO, vacation time, paid holidays, very affordable health insurance, free dental insurance, and a company-matched 401(k) Position Summary: The Lead Hazard Crew eliminates lead hazards in homes through window replacement, paint stabilization and specialized cleaning. Performs general home maintenance, repairs and modifications, making homes safer and more accessible for their residents. Abatement Specialists work in coordination with SRCs Lead Education / Healthy Homes program and other community partners. Your Qualifications: • 18+ years old • High School Diploma or equivalent • Lead Worker License and EPA RRP Training preferred, or the ability to attain your licensure within 30 days of hire with SRC's support • Must be able to pass BCA background check • Valid insurable driver's license • Willing to drive organization's vehicles to worksites • Able to follow verbal directions • Able to flex problem-solving skills as part of a team • Passionate about helping your neighbors is a must! Preferred Qualifications: • Carpentry/Home Repair Skills, previous window replacement, carpentry, painting experience Physical Requirements: • Must be able to wear (provided) protective safety equipment as required by State and Federal Law including half-mask respirators, protective eyewear, shoe covers, Tyvex suits, and work gloves • Willing to work in families’ homes and in a variety of settings that may feel uncomfortable (e.g. mold, unpleasant odors, extreme weather conditions, etc.) • Strength to lift at least 60 pounds • Able to work on hands and knees, in small tight places, and on ladders If you'd like to be part of our mission to bring healthy homes to Twin Cities communities, please send a cover letter and your resume to [email protected].
