We are seeking Laborer/CDL drivers to join our team. Must have a valid CDL driver’s license and willing to work on a construction crew. The Laborer/CDL driver will be responsible for transporting heavy machinery and materials needed at various job sites throughout the area and must be willing to work on a crew assisting in construction activities. NOTE: This position is NOT solely a Class A driving position. Physical labor and or operating heavy equipment is a requirement of this position. Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): • Travels to and from job sites • Loads and unloads materials on truck • Performs all phases of general and underground construction include but are not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment • Restores and repairs all disturbed property • Operates and/or works around heavy equipment and machinery such as, Backhoe, Jack Hammer, Jumping Jack, Hole Hog, Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc. • Maintains safe working habits/conditions at all times • Performs other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications: General • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid Commercial Driver’s license • Experience in telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Must be able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions • Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds • Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement • Must be able to operate or workaround heavy equipment and machinery • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders • Must be able to work in small/confined areas • Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
