We are offering a free introductory course: The American Newsstand.
An ability to read and comprehend news articles is essential to the understanding of contemporary American society. In The American Newsstand, students will examine stories from the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and The Economist (American edition). Students will hone speaking skills, enhance writing abilities, and improve reading comprehension through class discussion, news writing and oral presentation. We will also review essential grammar. This is a 10-week course that meets Monday evenings, starting September 27. All class meetings are on Zoom.
