VA Assistant Repair Manager Position Description This position is responsible for interaction between Suncoast and our clients that are constructing projects and that may have experienced difficulties during construction that have affected the application of the products that Suncoast has provided. It is a trouble shooting position that generally requires immediate attention and the ability to communicate effectively. • Personal Skills o Must be a good communicator in oral and written English. o A bachelor’s in construction or engineering education is preferred. o Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in construction industry preferably in a Project Management position. o Personable and outgoing personality to be able to create relationships with clients quickly to establish technical procedures and logistics for repairs, retrofits, and upgrades of building structures. o Be a team player and work with internal personnel, contractors, and engineers with different points of view and outlooks. o Ability to handle pressure and be flexible. o Ability to travel and be out of town for several days (short periods; 2 to 5 days) at a time. • Managerial Skills o Ability to supervise 2 to 10 people under his direction. o Organized and fluent in communication and computer software to keep track and report his projects and personnel to supervisors. o Be able to teach and mentor others in the company and outside. o Be able to monitor cost and schedule on projects and prepare/procure material, equipment, and personnel. o Be able to go to the job sites and get physically involved in the work when necessary; i.e., not be afraid of getting his hands and boots dirty. • Technical Knowledge o Concrete Building framing. o Concrete Formwork. o Concrete material, concrete additives, and epoxies. o Water proofing systems. o Expansion Joint System. o Basic knowledge of hydraulic equipment and grout pump safe operation and repairs. o Small engine operation and repairs
