JOB TITLE: Facilities Technician STATUS: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Safety and Environment of Care JOB DESCRIPTION: The Facilities & Technician is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of all building-related activities. This position will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning. This position supports a variety of types of infrastructure and job assignments will be given based on the staff members areas of comprehension and competence. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years or older to apply for this position. High School Diploma or GED Possess valid driver’s license CPR/First Aid Certification Current T.B. clearance Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 lbs. Education and/or experience in a wide array of facility repair needs, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, general repair, flooring, and basic construction skills. A valid US driver's license that is eligible to be enrolled in the organization's insurance plan. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments. -Be a multitalented handyman capable of contributing to projects for upkeep of the properties. Staff are expected to contribute to minor to moderate jobs involving apprentice level knowledge of basics in: -Plumbing -Painting -HVAC -Drywall/Basic Construction -Appliance Repair -Preventative Maintenance -Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards. -Work under the Director of Safety to maintain all facilities to Joint Commission standards, and perform all duties specifically associated with the elements of performance listed in the Environment of Care and Life Safety sections. -Ensure that all regulations of the Orange County Fire Authority and National Fire Prevention Association are in compliance. -Perform regular tours of company facilities and properties, and manage all repair work therein. -Document all work being done at company properties. -Onboarding Training for all new Employees. -Proactively assess and perform preventative maintenance on all properties and continuously evaluate areas for improvement. Once assessed, effectively remedy these identified deficiencies.
