Description

This is an approach to recognizing and evaluating individuals who are using and impaired by drugs in order to provide early intervention. The Jefferson County Drug Free Coalition is hosting a DITEP (Drug Impairment Training for Education Professionals) training for school staff, medical personnel, and others who work in the criminal justice and social work fields. DITEP training is a systematic approach to recognizing and evaluating individuals who are using and impaired by drugs in order to provide early intervention. Course content includes signs and symptoms of drug impairment, current drug trends (emphasis on cannabis and vaping), and how to deal with individuals under the influence in an academic environment. Nick Place will be your instructor. This training is FREE. Lunch will be provided. Please note if you have any dietary restrictions. The mission of the Jefferson County Drug Free Coalition is to prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug misuse among youth and the greater community through county-wide collaboration and education.
