At the outset, we feel it’s important to share our motivation in establishing this protocol. Beyond the necessity to be in conformity with the requirements mandated by our event facility, we have established these policies because we care about your health, that of your family and friends, and that of our communities. Simply put – we care about people and their health. Our event facility, The Grand Oshkosh, has announced a number of COVID protocols, both for audience members, and for "artists and their team" (in our case, speakers and our TEDxOshkosh team). We support The Grand's protocols and add an enhancement to them for audience members bringing the protocol to a uniform position for each person entering the theater. Protocol for all ParticipantsMasks, covering nose and mouth, are to be worn at all times, except when speaking on-stage, eating, or drinking ANDEither proof of a complete COVID vaccination series OR a negative rapid antigen or PCR test within 48 hours of entry to the theater - to be shown when arriving at the theaterWe recognize that some may find masks undesirable, or may have concerns about the vaccine, yet we feel these protocols strike a very reasonable position to protect you and those around you. Learn More About TEDxOshkoshTEDxOshkosh Background & Other InformationAbout TEDx, x = independently organized eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)  Common Questions (FAQ)Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?With the exception of registrations made under a discounted student price (which require a current student ID), and the requirement to document either a complete COVID vaccine series or a negative COVID test within 48 hours, there are no ID requirements for admission. TEDxOshkosh is suitable for people of high school age or older.  What are my parking options?There are numerous areas to park in the vicinity of The Grand Oshkosh, both in marked parking lots and in marked street parking spaces. Any parking violation citations are the responsibility of the auto owner.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions?It's easy! Just send email to [email protected].  What's the refund policy?We know plans can change, and we want to be flexible for you. Your first option - and we're sure you'd be thanked for it - is to give your registration to a friend. They can use it in your place, although we'd like you to edit the registration to change the name so we can print a correct nametag. We also will offer the option for a full refund up to 7 days before the event. While we'd like to allow refunds after that, our commitment to our caterer prevents us from doing so. TEDxOshkosh is planned, organized and executed by a local group of dedicated and passionate volunteers organized as Oshkosh Opportunities, Inc., and operating under license from the TED organization.
