Description

Stormwater Awareness Week is October 17-23, 2021, and it encourages people to lead the change and be clean water stewards. To culminate Stormwater Awareness Week, join Cleveland Water Pollution (WPC) for a stream clean up at Mill Creek Falls on Saturday, October 23, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Make a difference for clean water and the sustainability of Cleveland's sewer system while helping to beautify our great city. While rain water is great for lawns, gardens and vegetation, it can be harmful to waterways such as Lake Erie, because stormwater carries with it sediment and other pollutants on the ground. A rush of stormwater also can cause combined sewer overflows, street flooding and waste water backups into basements. Everyone can help protect the environment as well as public and private property. For the Mill Creek clean up, WPC will provide bags, gloves, masks and sanitizer and encourage social-distancing in small groups. You must wear the proper clothing and shoes. LET'S MAKE A DIFFERENCE! For more information about the cleanup, email [email protected] Visit the WPC website at www.ClevelandWPC.com
