The Inventory Manager is a key member of the Brookline Food Pantry (BFP) team, helping with daily operations and identifying ways to improve effectiveness. The Brookline Food Pantry has three locations in Brookline, MA and currently serves over 700 needy households a week with free fresh produce, proteins and breads in addition to shelf stable items. The Inventory Manager works closely with the Operations Manager and Executive Director as well as many volunteers. www.brooklinefoodpantry.org • Full time 40 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday. Must be flexible to open and close Pantry shifts. • Oversee inventory management at all Pantry locations, keeping inventory spreadsheet up to date and accurate. • Manage transportation of food between Pantry locations and storage units, driving 9’ vans and 10’ box trucks in Boston and Brookline and lifting boxes of food up to 50 lbs. • Plan and send out weekly truck split for Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) order. • Supervise GBFB pick-up, delivery, and truck split. • Order necessary UHAULs for each day. • Assist Operations Manager with receiving and utilizing food donations from outside organizations (Lovin’ Spoonful, Food Link, Target, Trader Joe’s, Wegman’s). • Serve as Shift Leader as needed, supervising Pantry shifts (when food is packed and distributed to clients). • Fill in as needed for Pantry shifts that are under-staffed or when extra help is necessary. • Ensure that all Pantry locations are fully stocked and organized with necessary equipment (tables, carts, umbrellas, tents, etc) cleaning and maintenance supplies (gloves, hand soap, trash bags, etc) proper forms (blank DSRs, intake forms, refrigerator logs, numbers, instruction sheets, food assistance information, protein signs, etc.) • Ensure that all Pantry locations are opened and closed properly (boxes and trash removed, produce and perishable foods stored properly, tables and floors are cleaned, doors locked). • Understand and enforce food safety requirements, COVID safety requirements, and other Brookline Health safety requirements. • Identify, propose and implement operational improvements to the Pantry. • Address comments, problems or complaints on site from volunteers and clients. • Ensure volunteers treat each other and clients politely and with respect. • Alert Operations Manager and ED to any and all issues pertaining to the Pantry. COVID-19 considerations: All Pantry clients, staff and volunteers are required to wear masks. Volunteers and staff must be vaccinated.
