COLLEGE PLANNING: IEP & 504 Plan Accommodations
Why They Change and What is Commonly Available (or Not)
Featuring: Elizabeth C. Hamblet
Guest Speaker, Elizabeth C. Hamblet is the author of From High School to College: Steps to Success for Students with Disabilities.
This is a FREE presentation (in person) for parents, educators and students (grades 8-12) with a 504 Plan or IEP. Attendees will have the chance to win a copy of Elizabeth's book.
DESCRIPTION: When students transition to college, prevailing laws change, which affects the availability of services and of certain accommodations. Many basic accommodations will be available to eligible students, but parents and professionals should know specifically what supports students generally can and can't expect so that they can prepare them for the transition. Learn what accommodations students are likely to receive, or not, and why.
Parents are also encouraged to register for the October 7th presentation Elizabeth will be giving through Zoom on College Evaluations: ZOOM REGISTRATION LINK
