Gain knowledge and experience in Exposure Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to effectively help those with OCD. This full day workshop for licensed/in training mental health counselors/clinicians will include a 3 hour presentation on Exposure and Response Prevention, a 90 minute presentation on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for OCD, a 1 hour Q&A panel with those who have lived experience of OCD treatment, and a 90 minute case example (OCD- creation of treatment plan using ERP and/or ACT) small groups activity. Each small group will have a specialist to support their discussion. Lunch will be allotted for 30 minutes to get food and settled in seat, but continue into the Q&A panel to allow more time for eating. Two 15 minute coffee/snack breaks will be provided (one AM/one PM). Your presenters are: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - Elizabeth Ellis Ohr, Psy.D. Dr. Ohr is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her doctoral degree from Immaculata University in 2009. She completed post doctoral training at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. At CTSA, Dr. Ohr participated in OCD research as a clinician and project manager. She conducted trainings of mental health professionals, practicum students, and psychiatry residents. Dr. Ohr continues to work as a consultant with CTSA. She has private practice in Portsmouth, NH where she specializes in Exposure/Ritual Prevention Therapy for OCD and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for anxiety disorders. Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) - Jeanette Nogales, LCMHC, M.Ed., C.A.G.S. Jeanette Nogales received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2005 and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S) in Clinical Mental Health and Leadership in 2008. Jeanette is currently a senior therapist at Hanover Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. Jeanette most recently served as the associate clinical director and program director at a residential treatment program specializing in empirically based treatments for anxiety and OCD-related disorders in adolescents and young adults. Prior to this position, she served as a graduate teaching faculty member at Plymouth State University, hospital-based clinician and crisis counselor at Lakes Region General Hospital, private practice clinician, and an adolescent and family therapist within a regional behavioral healthcare system. Jeanette has received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD, anxiety, and mood related disorders. She is a state approved supervisor for NH State clinical mental health counseling license candidates and has experience in supervision and consultation services. Jeanette enjoys training fellow clinicians in order to increase awareness and utilization of evidence-based treatments. Jeanette has presented on topics such as ACT and ERP for OCD, Bringing ACT Into the Classroom, and Bringing ACT Principles Into Your Milieu and Practice. She is an active member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) and the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). She has complete the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) training and the advanced BTTI training as well as attended trainings at the BECK Institute. Jeanette works collaboratively with each person to understand the barriers to living their most vital and meaningful life and then, together, facing and effectively navigating the challenges and pains that are an inevitable part of living fully. NHPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. These credits are also accepted by the State Board of Mental Health Practice and the State Board of Psychologists for all New Hampshire licensees.
