Beginners Workshop in Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting Sumi-e is traditional Japanese black ink painting. It originated in ancient China and was brought to Japan where it evolved to what we now known as Sumi-e. This 2 hour class is perfect for beginners interested in this painting technique. We will cover the basics about materials and then practice the use of Sumi ink in basic brushstrokes to achieve a simple finished piece. You will also learn how to properly mount the piece when it is totally dry. The total cost of this workshop is $55.00 . All materials are included. Due to Covid-19, the use of masks is required during this workshop. Street parking is available on N Donnelly St.
